Stuff

Everyone's back!!!!And they manged to lug the whole of Kuching back with them too. Mang Yik brought a printer and a stack of double A paper over, so now we don't have to drag ourselves to the Web to print stuff and use our print quota. :DD And check out her new phone.

The N73, latest model. Caleb got one too. Mang Yik got hers for 1.5, which is 200 bucks more than what Caleb paid for, but she upgraded from a 128 memory to a 512 whereas Caleb didn't. So now I officially have the lousiet phone on earth. XD I don't mind, I'd rather get an external HD with 60 gigs minimum or at least a damn tablet. I'm running out of space in D drive and I'm not a fan of burning CDs that collect dust so now have to resort to YouTube for anime. -_-

And by the way Anime Reactor Community (ARC) is having it's 2006 anime awards. These are some of the nominations:

BEST QUICK WATCH ANIME 2006
BEST SOUNDTRACK 2006
BEST ADVENTURE/FANTASY ANIME 2006
BEST ANIME OVERALL 2006
BEST COMEDY ANIME 2006
BEST DRAMA ANIME 2006
The complete list of nominations are here.

I'm not voting though; you have to sign up in the forums first. I'm just not worthy of it. ARC is where the hardcore otakus, fansubbing community and anime-fanatic-in-general gather. They keep up with dozens of the latest of the latest anime, Jdrama, manga etc and have 1337 fansubbing and scanlating skills. Well, that's the impression I get, at least. Wish I could keep up with the latest titles like that, but I ain't got the time, my studies are at very important stakes here. So I'm just about content with whatever comes by, usually stuff that's been shown 2-3 years ago. It's better that way anyway since I'm not game for watching anything that's not good. Good reviews, ratings etc. Just done with Black Lagoon and Fumoffu, actually. Black Lagoon was undoubtedly one of the best anime I've ever watched. It's just one of it's kind. Might do a review for Kyuu later.

So, vote if you dare!!! And happy belater CNY to everyone!!!^^ Ok gonna dive into chem notes now >.>

*gets blown through the roof*

I was gonna put a screen of this....

But when I was done editing and talking to various people I saw this.....

CHECK OUT THE DOWNLOAD SPEED DAMNIT
After getting like 2kbs as the norm at home, this feels like heaven.

My share ratio is at its lowest.

LIKE I GIVE A DAMN

Shippuden done in approx 1/2 hour w00t :DDDD

yeah yeah update

Whoa. Chinese New Year has come and gone before I knew it. I'm off back to KL in a couple hours time, which means I'll be alone in the apartment for the entire weekend. And what better way to pass your weekend alone in Subang than to MUG and STUDY for upcoming common tests. Whoo boy. I have SUCH a life.

So anyway, my CNY was eventful, like it is every year. Dinner with relatives on the eve, looking at the pretty lights, visiting relatives on the first day, friends after that. I've got a bunch of photos I'd like to put up, but blogger take on average 45 seconds to post a single photo/pic and I really don't have that kind of patience anymore. -_- But there was a record breaking 17 people from both I & J who visited me all at once. That was cool. :P The J dudes hung out a bit more before the gang crashed Mr Ang's house and hopped over to Hilary's for a game of Soul Calibre, then only we went to Eichi's which was our original destination in the first place. You want photos? Sure. Bug me after my CTs, which end after first week of March. Hey, if I weren't such a good procrastinator I wouldn't have so much inner stress.

Played futsal with the guys at Winner's on Thursday. Fun, but I still suck. The rest of the week was done entertaining various guests, visiting the random friend and watching the odd anime(fumoffu!!XDD). And I got 80% of my preminilary outline done. >.> (Though I wish I could say 'I've done 80% of my research assignment.' How could anyone enjoy academic writing???It baffles me.)

Well I'd blog a bit more but I'm really not up to it now, 'sides I gotta go soon anyway. Oh yeah. Is the bloody SPM result coming out on 28th Feb or 12th March? I'd be a little less tense about it if dad weren't dropping subtle hints that I had to get straight A1s and nothing less, just because I didn't take extra subjects that would help me get a full scholarship so I could save off that x amount of money. I know it's good to save as much as you can, but when you're sure for certain your Moral paper was shit, there's nothing much you can do about it.

This blog is so boring. I want to add a hell lot more things. More links, a banner, side features, click-play music, maybe my some dA art, a shoutbox, tags, PV hit counts, Technoranti. I've registered 3 times for myshoutbox.com and still can't get that bloody strip of code for a bloody shoutbox. I was thinknig of commisionning Tim do set everything up, but he's got quite a bit on his plate now. So it'll be a while before this blog gets a make over.

Yeah ok that's about it. And oh yeah, if you're a friend of mine and you're reading this blog, feel free to link. See yas.

Tadaima

I'm home. Back at 55-B Lorong Stampimn 19 Kuching. Ah, bliss. It's just good. All good. And good things require no explaination.

So my flight yesterday was MAS, MH2528 at 3pm. It was a full flight, I suppose there's no lack of Kuching people flying home for CNY and the plane was probably full of Sarawakians. ;) Anddd....it was a n Airbus!!! Can't remember the model- I think it was an A3- something ^^U- but it was definitely better than a 737. :)

A shot of a Kuwait plane I took in KLIA. That was the only interesting plane around. -_- The rest were all MAS or AA planes. Talk about low international traffic.

So upon landing at about 5pm and waiting about 15 mins for baggage to get through, I met up with Tim who'd just gotten a haircut. He looks like an NS trainee. :P Anyway Niisan is going off to QUT this Wednesday. He's right; life is too damn short.

Dad was waiting at the main entrance coz he had to park to car. When he saw me the first thing he said was 'You've got pimples' (or something like that). Gee, I missed you too, dad. :P

There's place like home.Family, home cooked food, being able to dry my clothes in the sun, my room, my good ol' mattress, the dog n cat, I'm typing this on a desktop (gasp!), TV, a broadband connection that doesn't cut every half an hour, my books and manga, the piano. Right now I'm watching Back to the Future 3 for like the 2,235,467th time.

It's good to be back.

woot hoo........

I've just flunked Physics. Screwed. Done. Over. That's all you need to know. It's so bad I don't even want to go on on how bad it was. Just so you know. No word about it, ok? Don't ruin my Chinese New Year holidays with lectures on how I should have studied harder, or talks on 'what's the problem'. Ok? Oh wait. My holiday's already gone. Maths, Chem and Bio common test 1 week after CNY. Which means I'll be lugging my books and notes home. But you know what? I'm flying home tomorrow, Physics is over, Flahsget works, I've completed my annotated bibliography and I feel like magic.

Stuff to do over holidays (besides eat, smile for the relatives and collect angpows)
-chem, bio and maths common test. Nuff said.
-Chem practical 3 report (draw apparatus)
-backload of maths homework
-ESL research assignment preminilary outline (+the exercise)
-check more sources for ESL research assignment
-finalize Bio Human Awareness Essay topic (to be handed in 2 March), start looking for resources
-get a move on the stoopid Physics infosearch project
-write script for LAN sketch
-write draft for LAN project (something to do with vision 2020 -_-)
-design Tshirt for MYF (Hannah's request) by March 3
-upload more stuff for Kyuu-san
-finish stuff for newsletter club (2 pages only)
-transcribe Kataritsu Koto (finally!!!!!!XDXDXDXD)
-dA
-install and play CS (hopefully be more than just n00b one day >.>)

Damn............long list.............

And oh yeah I seriously need a new mouse. It's a constant pain in the ass trying to navigate without a wheel.

So ciaos everyone :D

more stuff

Ok, so you probably think I don't want to talk to you and all that. But I'm very busy. For REAL. Tomorow there's a Bio quiz, testing about 8 subtopics, -_- and Thursday there's the uber mega (relatively) huge Physics common test, which is like, not a class test or quiz. It's gonna be at the (frrezing) MPH where all SAM students are gonna sit for it one shot and it'll count for our internal marks. Yeah. Huge. And Friday is the deadline for my ESL research sources and annotated bibliography thing which is causing me much stress because I can't seem to find any journals/articles/books on my topic, the internet is my only source for now. Which is not good coz I need at least 4 different sources. *stressstressstress*

So we have these common tests, right? Those are the biggies, second only to the finals. Well teachers thought we might need prep for the CTs, so we get quizes. And to prepare us for the quizes, we have tutorials, class tests, whatever you want to call it. So we have a test like every week, whether it's big or small. I suppose it keeps us on our feet, but...man.....>___>

Aaaannnndso that only thing I'll have to look forward to this week is coming back home for Chinese New Year!!!!!!:DDDD I've even made a list pf what to bring/do:

What to bring home:
Hong Wei's MUET results
pics for filling
eichi's Ju-lah artbook
clothes so I can wash em and let them actually dry in the sun
table lamp (to check for the bulb)

What to do when I'm in Kuching:
buy mouse (my wheel is no longer working...so now I have to scroll the old fashioned way...)
cut hair (it's so thick I could do Toboe better than Rukia now :P )
install Adobe Illustrator ( for newsletter graphics dept)
torrent like mad!!!!!!(in a place where my line doesn't get cut like every 1/2 hour)
eat tons of kolo mee/laksa
get and eye test (I think my degree's gone up) and tighten screws on specs
test bearshare/get limewire/mp3 downloading software
copy over DN manga & Fumoffu :P
study...............-________-

Stuff to bring over to Subang:
more wear-at-home shirts
floor mats
my dear 570 calculator (I've missed yoooouuuu)
Angelas ashes (for Lizamay)
Violin+stand+add scores for Ho Sheng(clarinet too if possible)
hand towel
extension chord for kitchen (the water dispenser, rice cooker, hot plate, microwave and water boiler share 2 power points)
frozen kolo mee

Yeap....I think that's about it....:D so see ya's all on CNY...chiao..gotta sleep/dig more bio >.>

Long day >.>. Dad and I went out to KL to get some stuff. We took a taxi to a station then went to Sentral then crossed the road to get to the monorail. Bleh. Spent a good 2 hours in Lowyat looking for various things. In the end I got my mouse and headset. Good prices. Dad got himself a DVD burner, some RAM and another stack of 100 CDs, amongst other things. And….I saw tablets!!! Real tablets!!! I could barely contain my excitement. The Wacoms were more expensive, the cheapest I saw was RM330 for a 4x5 I think. There were the bigger sizes and professional models too. But Genius was waaayyy cheaper, a 4x5.5 was just RM135 and a 5x6 was RM185!!!! I mean, I could easily afford it, but something’s holding me back and I don’t really know what it is….ah well.

Continued shopping around Bukit Bintang, hung around Sungei Wang etc. Bought my 3rd Bleach manga bootleg. =) RM8 for something that was worth RM30 at MPH/Kino!!!! Everytime I go to that magazine shop (the one near the escalator) in Sungei Wang I find the bootlegs. Only Bleach, though. On the whole it was a good haul. I got Cassandra a 512MB thumb drive as requested even though a 1 gig cost not much more. >.>

It was getting dark, but dad half wanted to have his Kueh Tiaw at Jalan Alor but couldn’t decide. In the end we flipped a coin and got heads, meaning kueh tiaw was on. The road there was closed because there was some kind of Chinese New Year carnival going on. There was this looooong table, I mean long, with a Malaysian Book of Records laminated tag hanging from it.

This was halfway through the table. There was a sign saying ‘100m’.

So obviously they were trying to cook up a very long something, I don’t know. It wasn’t specified, and we didn’t hang around to watch coz Man U vs. Liverpool was kicking off in half an hour.

There was also a Lion dance troop, complete with pole and all. Lion dance here is serious stuff, not like the puny ones you get in Kuching. The way they jump on all the pole will just blow you off. There was a lion dance performance at Taylor’s just this week, and it was pretty cool too.

Waited at taxi stand for taxi back. It was a long queue, so by the time we got a taxi it was past 8.40. =( The Indian driver was in such a hurry he was going so fast, I got that feeling like I always do everytime Nii-san tries to ‘see if it can go up to 100 on a straight road’ in Kuching. Which is not possible by the way. I leaned over to see what speed we were going at, and found out that the bloody speedometer was not working. Wtf. That’s Proton for you.

By the time we reached the room it was 22 minutes into the game. Nil-nil, as prediced. Took a hot, hot shower at half time. Great game. Man U won 1-0. Like, o___O??? I kinda expected it to end at a nil-nil draw but O’Shea scored one in extra time. Whoa. Can’t wait to read about it tomorrow. Man U has pwned the EPL. 12 freaking points ahead. I wonder if I’ll stay up for the Arsenal-Reading later. Right now it’s Bleach vol 15 =).

Today as a holiday coz of Thaipusam (sp?). Back in Sarawak we didn't really celebrate Thaipusam so it's kinda a new thing for me, this holiday. I suppose it's the same for Gawai for peninsularians. Anyway.

Lifeline- the catholic youth group that most of my roomies go to- were having this day trip to Bukit Tinggi, you know, the place that has the pseudo-France buildings and Onsen and everything. On the way we passed by Batu Caves, where throngs of Hindus were fulfilling religious obligation.

We went in about 4 cars. The trip tool about 2 hours or so. The air up there is good, as in damn good. Fresh and cold. Felt like Austrailian climate or something. The view was pretty, too.

First up was the Botanical Gardens.

The climb up was steep.

Pine trees next to tropical trees. Nice.

So the botanical garden isn't unlike any other forest park or anything. You get pretty plants, a good view, and on top of it a nice cool day. That's about it, but it's still good.

Then there was the Japanese Village, which looked like something from a J-drama.

Cassandra, Elaine, Joyce and Mang Yik

There was this tea house where you could actually wear a kimono and have a real tea ceremony, with of course with a fee.

I wanted to take a better picture of the tea house with the girl in the kimono, but she was kinda shy and didn't want to pose for me, so I had to settle with candid shots.

And that's the room where the tea ceremony is held. The picture's not very good because I couldn't actually go into the house, it was strictly for people who paid to do the tea ceremony. Bleh.

Then there was another one of these cozy-looking Japanese buildings (help me out here, annachuu @_@). I couldn't take many pictures of it since my camera died and decided to come back to live just as we were leaving. We just hung around the house and soaked in the scenery. There were green plants, boulders, little ivers.waterfalls; it was simply picturesque. I wouldn't have minded staying a bit longer.

Joanne, Edine and the random hand.

Watch me waterbend XD

So next was Colmar castle, the pseudo-Medievel French/Swiss-looking buildings which were...very interesting, to say the least.

On the way down we saw this grand lobby kind of place. Looked a bit like something cross between Merdeka Palace and Sarawak Chamber.

So everyone balantly ignored the 'no entry' sign and strolled in to take a look.

Oh, so it's called 'le Chevalier'. That's so BLOOD+ish. :P

Scenery was good.

Flowers abloom....

French village with Chinese New Year deco....

The authenticity....

The wishing well....

From the top of the tower...

My roomies- Joanne, Mang Yik, me, Cassandra, Edine(sitting), Elaine and Joyce- 7 of us in apartment Z-218.

Joanne, Adrian and...another guy whose name I don't know. ^_^U

Another perspective from top of the tower.

z0mg swans yay

So my camera battery ran flat at about this time and I'd left the spare batteries in he other bag. -_- So I couldn't take the group pic, but in case you're interested, there were about 16 or us. Happy?

Next up was the rabbit park, where we chased, petted, played and fed those 'cutsie lil rabbits'. Cool.

Drove back, had lunch/dinner at some restaurant in SS2. It was about 4pm then.

~~~end~~~
gawd what a perfectly unimaginative post -_-
